Biography
I am a third year PhD student in the Department of Computer Science at Texas State University focusing on information management. I have a background in applied mathematics and statistics and
have interdisciplinary experience in chemistry, public health, and computer vision. Currently, I work in Dr. Apan Qasem's Compilers Research Lab (CRL) investigating agent-based models.
PhD Activities
Fall 2021
Summer 2021
- Participated in the Department of Homeland Security Summer Research Team (DHS-SRT) Program on a team led by Dr. Dan Tamir and hosted
by the University of Illinois's Critical Infrastructure Resilience Institute (CIRI). We partnered with the United States Coast Guard (USCG)
and investigated applicability of distributed ledger techology to the missions of the USCG with a focus on supply chain traceability in the seafood industry.
The poster is available here and the workshop presentation is available here.
- Mentored a computer science undergradute researcher during the 2021 STEM Undergraduate Research Program (SURE).
Spring 2021
- Continued the study of community detection of signed graphs that I begin in CS 7300 during an independent study (CS 7387) supervised by
Dr. Tesic. The final report can be viewed here and is currently being prepared for submission to journals.
Fall 2020
- Participated in MediaEval 2020 FakeNews: Coronavirus and 5G Conspiracy benchmark competition and led the structure-based
branch of the project. The working notes paper is available here.
- Completed the CS 7300 rotation project under the supervision of Dr. Tesic on the topic of community detection in signed graphs.
The poster can be viewed here.
